All was quiet at the beginning of 2011, particularly where Peter & Carol were waiting to be joined by other TaffMoggers for a New Year’s Day run. Wait they did, for some time, before phoning Caroline, the organiser, to ensure they had the time and location correct. They did - and didn’t - as the event had been cancelled due to lack of support, Peter’s email to Carolline not having been delivered, (please note the spelling here!). However, Humphrey & Caroline don’t need persuading to jump into the +8, so what could have been a disaster turned into a pleasant afternoon for the 4 of them.

The AGM and Planning Meeting was held at the St.Mary’s Golf & Country Club on 13th January.

Despite atrocious weather and with some flooding on access roads, the meeting was attended by 47 members. The buffet was of good quality and enjoyed by all in the hour or so before the meeting proper started. There being no volunteers for the position of Secretary or Treasurer, the incumbents, myself and Carl were quickly reinstated for another year, much to everyone’s relief.

It was decided to use the St. Mary’s Golf Club again for the February noggin while future venues will be investigated.

We now have a full programme of events for 2011 which will begin on 27th February, with a run organised by David & Jean.

The noggin in Usk was as popular as ever and Bob Lloyd, from Bristol, and his son Brian put in another appearance, although not in the Morgan. They assure me that they’ll be joining us on some of our runs in the coming year.

The first West Wales noggin of the year will be held on Friday, 25th March at The Halfway Inn, Nantgaredig. As usual, please inform Simon & Natalie if you will be dining. Their number is 01558 668337.
